Bollywood actor Asif Basra hanged himself In Dharmshala.
For his fans, “Asif still Bas Raha” in their hearts. An actor who started his career from the theatres and reached the pinnacle of entertainment left the world by committing suicide on 12th November 2020 in McLeodGanj, Dharmashala.
Asif Basra was 53 years old. A police team is investigating the whole case with forensic team to understand the cause of suicide. His death went like a riveting shock in the film industry. Stars like Richa Chaddha, Manoj Bajpayee, Swara Bhaskar, Shraddha Kapoor, Pooja bhatt expressed their Downhearted emotions after hearing his sudden demise. Born in the town of Amravati, Maharashtra, alumni of Mumbai University, Asif Basra played a wide variety of roles in several Bollywood movies and web series.
Asif Basra has played the characters that have shown vibrant traits. He played the role of a Muslim father who tried to save his son during the Godhra riots in the movie Kai Poche, which was based on Chetan Bhagat’s 3 Mistakes of My Life. He presented an adamant and dark – character labour in the movie Chal Chala Chal who ran away with all the money of his owner, after which he uses Labour Union leader to protect himself. From being an honest cop in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai to an opportunist cop in Knockout, Asif displayed two oxymoron temperament. He had also played the Role of Shraddha Kapoor’s father in 2014 action/thriller Ek Villain.
Asif Basra recently appeared in The Tashkent Files, a movie based on the mysterious death of the second honourable PM of India, Late Lal Bahadur Shastri. In terms of web series, Asif Basra was present in Paatal Lok and Hostages Season 2. Like the famous American comedy Outsourced, in which he acted, the industry will not be able to outsource such actors to pitch the level of acting, Asif has delivered in each shot.
