1. Mandatory Signs

STOP: This sign indicates that you to stop your vehicle here, Usually Police and toll authorities use this sign.

No Entry: This sign indicates that you are not allowed to take the vehicle towards this side of the road.

ONE WAY: You can go in this direction but incoming from other side is prohibited

ONE WAY: You can not go in this direction but incoming from other side is allowed

Give Way

GIVE WAY: This sign direct the traffic to give way to the fellow traffic on your right side.

CYCLE PROHIBITED

CYCLE PROHIBITED: You can not run Cycle on this street or road.

PEDESTRIANS PROHIBITED

PEDESTRIANS PROHIBITED: It is usually installed where alternative crossings are available

RIGHT TURN PROHIBITED

RIGHT TURN PROHIBITED: This sign instruct driver not to turn towards the right side in any situation.

LEFT TURN PROHIBITED

LEFT TURN PROHIBITED: This sign instruct driver not to turn towards the left side in any situation.

U-TURN PROHIBITED

U-TURN PROHIBITED: It is forbidden to take a U-turn with the vehicle.

OVERTAKING PROHIBITED

OVERTAKING PROHIBITED: This sign is installed, where overtaking can cause danger.

HORN PROHIBITED

HORN PROHIBITED: This sign directs the driver to respect the silence zone and not to use the horn.

NO STOPPING OR STANDING

NO STOPPING OR STANDING: Any vehicle stopping at these places could meet an accident and also a penal action.

NO PARKING

NO PARKING: Any vehicle standing here is towed away and the occupier is considered liable for punitive action.

SPEED LIMIT

SPEED LIMIT: To avoid accidents and punitive action, the specified limit should be followed strictly.

2.Cautionary Signs

All these are the street signs from India which are created to notify the motorist about the possible dangers. Although violation of these road signs does not attract any legal action but avoiding them could result in major accidents.

RIGHT HAND CURVE

RIGHT-HAND CURVE: This sign alerts you about a Right-Hand Curve on the road ahead. It helps you to drive accordingly.

LEFT HAND CURVE

LEFT-HAND CURVE: This sign alerts you about a Left-Hand Curve on the road ahead.

RIGHT HAIR PIN BAND

RIGHT HAIRPIN BAND: This sign alerts you about a sharp right turn on the road ahead.

LEFT HAIRPIN BAND: This sign alerts you about a sharp left turn on the road ahead.

NARROW ROAD AHEAD: This sign alerts the driver to be careful as the road ahead is narrow.

Informatory Signs helps a motorist in saving time, reaching destination without roaming around. These signs are meant to provide information about destinations and places like schools, hospitals, petrol, restaurant etc.

PARKING: This sign is installed at destination telling about where to park your vehicles.

HOSPITAL

HOSPITAL: This sign indicates that there is a Hospital nearby. 

PETROL PUMP

PETROL PUMP: This informatory sign shows that there is a Petrol Pump ahead on the road

PUBLIC TELEPHONE

PUBLIC TELEPHONE: This sign indicates the availability of Telephone near the road.

EATING PLACE

EATING PLACE: This sign is common on highways which indicates that there is an eating-place nearby

RESTING PLACE

RESTING PLACE: This sign is for the motel, lodge or any other facility for resting.
