Domestic Flights Resume From Today: The center government clarified the situation on the issue of quarantining the passengers before domestic flights started operating in India two months later on Monday (May 25). The Union Health Ministry issued a guideline on Sunday (May 24) saying that the state can decide the rules for quarantining passengers themselves.

The Aviation Ministry has removed the difficulties of states and airline passengers to a large extent by issuing quarantine guidelines for domestic flights, trains, and bus travel. It states that if the passengers have symptoms of the corona at the end of the journey, then they should be quarantined. But if the states want to change it, they can decide themselves who to quarantine, who does not or whether to quarantine all the passengers. State governments can fix quarantine and isolation protocols according to their needs.

Puri succeeded in persuading the states after long meetings

Till Sunday (24 May) afternoon, it was not decided whether the movement of aircraft would start from Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, which are among the busiest airports in the country. However, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri took the command of persuading the states by leading the officials and till late evening all the governments were persuaded after a long round of meetings.

Puri himself informed this by tweeting on Sunday night. He said that a long period of meetings went on to clear the doubts of the states. In the office of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, several rounds of discussions were held between the representatives of the states, airlines, and airport directors.

Puri said that a limited number of flights will begin in Maharashtra. Chennai also approved it. West Bengal was also allowed to start flights from Kolkata and Bagdogra from May 28 with a three-day extension. A limited number of flights will be able to operate from Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam airports a day later, ie from 26 May. Hyderabad will operate 30 flights daily. The Union Minister said that there will be a maximum of 25 flights from Chennai, although there will be no restriction on the number of flights at other airports in Tamil Nadu.
