IRCTC Website Got Hanged Twice, Passengers Facing Double Trouble

Last Updated on

IRCTC Website Got Hanged: Indian Railway’s ticket booking website IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) opened on Monday evening. This website was opened for ticket booking at 4 pm today. However, now it has been told by IRCTC that booking of train tickets will start from 6 pm. But even after 6 pm, there is a constant technical flaw in the website, due to which people are facing difficulties in booking tickets.

Tomorrow, ie from May 12, the Railways is going to run 15 pairs of trains, whose booking was to start at 4 pm today. This website (https://www.irctc.co.in/nget/) is opening late after four o’clock in the evening and the home page of the website was not able to open. If this page is also opening, then there was a problem with booking tickets. Later it was told that the booking will start at 6 pm.

Meanwhile, IRCTC has said through a tweet, “Information of special trains is being uploaded into the system, booking will start soon.”

If a passenger has a confirmed ticket, then transportation will be allowed to reach the railway station on that basis. That means only the e-ticket will be considered a pass.

Tickets will be available for only 30 special trains. These tickets will not be available through any agent. Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets will not be booked. Only AC coaches are available in special trains. Only AC class tickets will be booked.

Which Cities Will the trains run to

The Railway has decided to depart from New Delhi station for Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu. After May 12, trains can also start on another route. Railways informed that the catering service will not be provided during this time.

On Sunday, the Railways tweeted that the ticket booking window at the stations will remain closed, no counter tickets including platform tickets will be issued. All tickets will be booked online through IRCTC.

Apart from this, wearing masks for traveling travelers will also be obligatory. After screening all the passengers, only those people will be allowed to board the train, which will have no chance of a virus and the seat will also be confirmed.

These instructions given by the railway

It has been said from the railway that passengers will have to reach the railway station at least one and a half hours in advance for thermal screening (body temperature check). Along with this, all passengers have been advised by the Railways to download and use the Arogya Setu App.

It has been instructed by the railways that it would be better to bring passengers with their sheets, food, and water, during the journey the railway will only give them dry ready-to-eat food and hot water, which they will have to pay.

Information has been given by the Railways that advance reservation will be for a maximum of seven days, RAC and waiting ticket will not be issued at present, TTE will not be allowed to make any ticket in the train.

Significantly, all passenger train services have been closed since March 25 due to the nationwide lockdown of Covid-19. Well, the rush of the passengers of willing to book their railway tickets was too much for the already vulnerable website of IRCTC and we can strongly assume that is why the passengers faced double trouble due to the IRCTC website getting hanged.
