Legal Notice to Patanjali Ayurveda: Controversy has been growing over the coronavirus medicine Coronil introduced by Patanjali. Previously, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India prohibited the propagation till the completion of the investigation, now the Uttarakhand Government has decided to issue a notice regarding the license. It has said that Patanjali Ayurveda was licensed for immunity boosters, phlegm and fever medicine.

The license officer of the Ayurveda department of Uttarakhand said on Wednesday, “As per the application given by Patanjali Ayurveda, we had given the license. It did not mention the term coronavirus. We have licensed it for immunity boosters and cough medicine. We will issue a gal notice to them and ask how they will get the license to manufacture the medicine kit against Covid-19.

Yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday claimed “Divya Coronil” medicine to be 100 percent effective in treating Covid-19 and launched it in the et. At the same time, a few hours later, the Ministry of AYUSH asked him to provide details of the number of various herbs present in this medicine and the research done before introducing this medicine. Also, the ministry has ordered the company to stop promoting this product until the subject is investigated.

Patanjali Ayurveda, offering ‘Coronil pill and Swasari Vati medicines, has claimed to have found a cure for Covid-19. It also claimed that these ayurvedic medicines showed 100% favorable results during clinical trials, except for the infected patients on the life support system.

However, the ministry said that it is not aware of the facts of this claim and the details of the scientific study being done. Patanjali has been asked to provide details of sample size, location, and hospitals where the research study was conducted. Also, the approval of the Institutional Ethics Committee has also been asked to be shown.

Till now no ultimate medicine has been approved to be able to cure Covid-19 completely. After the launch of coronil medicine, the pro-Ayurveda and pro-allopathy social media users are targeting each other over the topic as to which medicinal science branch has the perfect medicinal solution for coronavirus which has called havoc not just in India but around the whole world.
