Yesterday, BSP chief Mayawati said that her party would contest alone in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan or else will contest together with other regional parties. She said that her party would not combine with Congress for upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. With this, she also blamed Congress party for trying to finish BSP.
Mayawati alleged that BSP always supported Congress and Congress party instead of thanking BSP and making a lot of defamation Congress attitude is not good. She continued that in such a situation BSP will not combine at any cost and at any level with Congress. BSP will contest elections in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh too with other regional parties and not with Congress.
Mayawati, BSP chief said that Sonia Gandhi along with Rahul Gandhi wanted this coalition but several other leaders were against it. They did not want us to unite and fight at any cost. She clearly stated that Digvijay Singh did not want that there should be any kind or alliance amid BSP and Congress; he also said that Congress is a cast party. In the lack of coalition amid Congress and BSP, Digvijay Singh has a personal interest. Yesterday she also claimed that Congress party‘s rope was scorched and also there was no force as they have not taken lessons from Gujarat.
Why Mayawati said Congress party is afraid of BJP?
BSP Chief Mayawati ensures that in upcoming elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh her party will enter alone. She alleged that Congress party does not want to defeat BJP, however, wants to trounce its partners. In the entire conference, Mayawati did not clarify that whether BSP will contest the elections in conjunction with Congress in 2019 Lok Sabha elections or not. Mayawati came out as a game changer in yesterday’s press conference and also shut down the doors for Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Thus it is very early to claim that BSP and Congress may or may not have an alliance for the future. Mayawati also denied claims by Digvijay Singh that she was under a lot of pressure from Centre and so she did not want an alliance with Congress party.
Launching a mocking attack on Congress party, Mayawati claimed that Congress party become arrogant and thinks that it can defeat BJP all alone. She added that ‘although people are angry with Congress as much as they are with BJP.’ By taking a dig, she said that Congress has been routed in India and hitherto thinks that it can beat BJP alone. Mayawati also cleared that ‘ it was in larger people’s as well as national interest that BSP agreed to the coalition to check BJP which was pursuing anti-farmer, anti-people, anti-poor, and pro-capitalist policies from coming to power. ‘ She added that Congress attitude was the only reason that BJP remained in power in Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh and many other states for such a long period of time and till date also Party had not restored itself.
Digvijay Singh’s response to Mayawati statement
Today, Digvijay Singh said ‘we haven’t done anything wrong, and we will definitely combine for the country. Collision always takes place around the elections and not so early and our alliance will definitely be’. He added that ‘I have already made it apparent that I respect Mayawati Ji and always supported BSP-Congress alliance since the beginning.’ Digvijay Singh added that in Madhya Pradesh there was a conversation regarding alliance amid Congress and BSP, but Mayawati declared their candidate in 22 seats.
Digvijay Singh says that he followed Rahul Gandhi’s directions and added that ‘I have been one of the bitterest critics of PM Modji, Amit Shah Ji, RSS, and BJP. Rahul Gandhi is our Congress chief and I have the duty to pursue his specified directions.’
Digvijay Singh also expressed his assurance confidence that the Modi government will be for sure defeated In upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019 and also alleged further that PM Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah both used CBI and IB as weapon adjacent to the opponents.
On the other hand, the Congress party is still hopeful that BSP chief Mayawati will sooner or later come around. Today Congress party addressed a conference in the national capital. On this matter, Congress leader, as well as Spokesman Randeep Surjewala, said that ‘sometimes feelings are sweet and sour. However, if Mayawati trusts Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, then the way out of such small things can be made.’ He also added that ‘alliances are not something that is just declared at a press conference. I actually think that Mayawati’s statement says a lot more than that and which media should read for sure’.
The speculations in terms of this grand alliance with Mayawati had started with warm, hold she shared with Sonia Gandhi in May this year. It was at the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy. Since that time this proposed grand alliance faced many setbacks, and both parties failed to be in agreement on projecting a face of PM and seat sharing together for several state elections and 2019 elections.
This decision of Mayawati is not less than a shock for Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who is trying continuously to bring opposition parties together to defeat BJP in upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It was said before that the Congress party and BSP alliance would overcome. On the other hand, there is the speculation that it is not quite easy to become an alliance amid Congress and other opposition parties. Apparently, if this alliance is not formed then, it will for sure directly benefit Pm Nerada Modi and BJP.
However, everything is possible in politics, but at present, it seems impossible and due to these current political situations is directly benefitting BJP and also increasing their chances to win the upcoming elections in 2019.
